Resilient institutional design of welfare in the digital era - RIDE

As society becomes more digitalised, people collaborate in new ways, discovering opportunities, resources, and values. However, we also face new challenges, and what was once stable is now questioned. This calls for new, sustainable welfare institutions.

Welcome to RIDE

The research environment RIDE focuses on the big questions behind the everyday realities of digitalisation. We integrate knowledge from various disciplines and learn by comparing what is happening in Sweden with other countries.

The knowledge develops through close collaboration with politics, public organisations, and others. We aim to contribute to an inclusive digital society where, together, we have the skills to use digitalisation in many ways for welfare.

In RIDE, social scientists primarily work alongside experts in digitalisation, politics, and public administration. To create new theories and contribute to more sustainable societal organisation, fundamental questions will be the focus. By examining the broader trends and contexts in previous research projects, theories on inclusion, diversity, and competencies will evolve, with a focus on sustainable welfare institutions in increasingly digitalised societies.
