NAEL is a research conference that circulates between the five Nordic countries ever two years. NAEL is arranged by a loosely organized Nordic network of researchers with interests in adult education and learning. Next time will be in Finland 2026.

The 9th NAEL was held 18-20 May 2022 in Vestfold, University of South-Eastern Norway, Campus Vestfold and Quality Hotel Tønsberg.

The 7th NAEL was held 3-5 May 2017 in Jönköping, Sweden at School of Education and Communication, Jönköping University.

The 8th NAEL was held 13-15 May 2019 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and hosted by DPU Danish School of Education, Aarhus University.

The 6th NAEL was held 25-28 March 2015 in Tampere, Finland, at the School of Education, University of Tampere.

The 5th NAEL was held 5-6 March 2013 in Reykjavik, Iceland. The conference was hosted and organized by the University of Iceland, School of Education.
