The position

We are looking for up to 10 teaching assistants who, based on need and agreement, will assist in courses in machine learning at the master’s level during the fall semester of 2024 (with the possibility of extension).

The main need from the division during the semester is the Machine Learning course(s) 732A99/TDDE01.

Tasks may include helping students during scheduled computer labs, teaching during lessons, oversee seminars, scheduled drop-in help sessions, and grading of different forms of examinations.

Eligibility

To be eligible as a teaching assistant, you need to be admitted to studies at the university level and have studied courses relevant to the position.

The person we need

We are looking for students who has achieved documented high grades within the areas in question. The tasks are varied and may be announced on short notice requiring you to be flexible and available at the university campus. It is meritorious to be a student at Linköping University.

The workplace

The Department of Computer and Information Science was founded in 1983 but its roots go back to the early 1970s. It is one of the largest computer science departments in northern Europe. Our research covers a broad spectrum of fields, from core to applied computer sciences. Its vast scope also benefits our undergraduate and graduate programmes, and we now teach courses in several engineering programmes at bachelor’s and master’s levels, as well as the programmes in statistics, cognitive science and innovative programming. You will work alongside one or more teachers at the Division of Statistics and Machine Learning (STIMA) with courses in statistics and machine learning.

The employment

The scope of the tasks and start time are determined by agreement.

Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.

Salary and employment benefits

Salary according to LiU's central agreement on teaching assistans salaries. You will be employed on an hourly basis.
