The position

We are looking for up to 20 teaching assistants (amanuensis), who, if necessary and by agreement, will assist course coordinators in their teaching activities. The tasks can involve lesson teaching and supervision at laboratory exercises and other assignments, including correction of reports, quizzes (questions), etc.

The person we need

Qualified for employment as amanuensis are only those who are admitted to education at the undergraduate or advanced level within the field of applied thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, given by the MVS division at LiU. The tasks are varied and can arise at short notice, which requires flexibility and that you are available at the university. You must also be responsible, thorough, have pedagogical skills and be interested in each subject area.

A requirement for this position is that you can demonstrate documented good knowledge in the areas you are expected to teach in, and it is an advantage if you have experience of teaching. It is favorable and meritorious if you are studying at LiU and that you could be available for teaching tasks during autumn 2024 with the possibility of extending thru 2025.

The workplace

The division of Applied Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics (MVS), associated to the Department of Management and Engineering (IEI) and Faculty of Science and Engineering (LiTH), provides a wide range of courses on both basic and advanced level at different education programs at Linköping university (LiU). This education often involves a multitude of various pedagogic teaching activities that demands competent personnel.

The employment

The start date as well as extent of tasks are determined by agreement. Employment as amanuens is regulated in Chapter 5, Högskoleförordningen.

Salary and employment benefits

Salary according to LiU's central agreement on teaching assistans salaries. The empolyment is hourly paid.
