Linköping University, LiU, conducts world-leading, boundary-crossing research in fields that include materials science, IT and hearing. In the same spirit, the university offers many innovative educational programmes, frequently with a clear professional focus and leading to qualification as, for example, doctors, teachers, economists and engineers.
LiU was granted university status in 1975 and today has 27,000 students and 4,000 employees. The students are among the most desirable in the labour market and international rankings consistently place LiU as a leading global university.

Turning huge amounts of data into information

Visualisation technology is a fundamental requirement when people are to understand complicated relationships, come to well-considered decisions, and manage large automated systems, such as autonomous vehicles. The research carried out by Anders Ynnerman and Jonas Unger is an important contribution to the Wallenberg Autonomous Systems and Software Program, WASP.

Linköping University is based on four campuses at three locations in southern Sweden, in northern Europe. Two of the campuses, Campus Valla and Campus US (Linköping University Hospital), are located in Linköping. Campus Norrköping lies in the centre of Norrköping, while Campus Lidingö with Carl Malmsten Furniture Studies lies just outside Stockholm.
