The project aims to develop a standardized method for measuring capillary refill time in order to assess circulatory distress of patients in a prehospital setting.
Device development and tests to define optimum procedure of measurement are being conducted. A new way to visualize blood flow in the skin will be developed and used to evaluate the new method of measurement. The project is a collaboration between KMC, the Department of Dermatology and the Emergency Department at the University Hospital in Linköping together with Wheelsbridge AB.
