Name: Malte Much
Job: Account Manager (Sales) at Serverhero GmbH
Programme: International and European Relations, graduated in 2023
What I do and how I got there
- Selling IT infrastructure (Server, Storage, Networking, Hardware, Software) to businesses, providers, and public institutions.
- Accompanying customers through the process: (re)activating calls, identifying demand and requirements.
- Consulting, configurating, offering, bidding, quoting, organising meetings with technical experts from the manufacturers.
- Coordinating value delivery and customer success. Many phone calls and video meetings.
I got into this as a working student, while finishing the program remotely. Then developed my skills and branch knowledge within the company. The studies helped to understand complex (political and economic) contexts of the business and to work resiliently in a disciplined and structured way.
Besides work I voluntarily engage in Volt Europa, the Pan European Movement and Political Party to further unite Europe, the topic of my Master Thesis.
Why LiU?
I searched for free two-year master program in Scandinavia dealing with both international and European relations. The studies were more research- and theory-oriented than I expected. The academical freedom in combination with the frequent submissions of research papers required self-organised studying and writing. This was a challenging opportunity to grow academic discipline, resilience, and perseverance.Alongside the studies I led the local chapter of the youth-run organisation AIESEC – a global platform that helps young people to explore and develop their leadership potential in practical voluntary or professional international experiences. I also organised language exchange events on campus. I appreciated the beautifully modern campus, dedicated bike lanes and fika.
