Digital methods are transforming how products are developed and manufactured, enabling new ways to design, analyze and produce solutions across industries. Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, is one important part of this shift, but similar changes are also driven by advances in automation, simulation, computer vision and other AI techniques.
My research in this area focuses on understanding and improving how these technologies can be used together to create more reliable, efficient and adaptable processes. This includes developing design approaches, improving production workflows and using data to support better decisions throughout the product lifecycle. The work spans applications in both industry and healthcare, where requirements on performance, sustainability and customization continue to grow.
