I study how additive manufacturing and digital methods can work together to make 3D printing more predictable and efficient. Using data, design and smart processes, solutions are developed for industry and healthcare.

Additive manufacturing in data-driven product development

Additive manufacturing is explored as part of a broader shift toward digital and data-driven product development, focusing on how design, processes and smart methods can work together to make 3D printing more predictable, efficient and ready for industrial use.

Digital methods are transforming how products are developed and manufactured, enabling new ways to design, analyze and produce solutions across industries. Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, is one important part of this shift, but similar changes are also driven by advances in automation, simulation, computer vision and other AI techniques.

My research in this area focuses on understanding and improving how these technologies can be used together to create more reliable, efficient and adaptable processes. This includes developing design approaches, improving production workflows and using data to support better decisions throughout the product lifecycle. The work spans applications in both industry and healthcare, where requirements on performance, sustainability and customization continue to grow.
