I study EU and Member State climate mitigation policy. I am especially interested in the knowledge politics of climate policy discourse: what problems are presented through policies, what storylines are prevalent in hegemonic discourse, and which perspectives and storylines are missing. I use the case of Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (bio-CCS) to explore these questions.
In my research, I have studied Swedish Parliamentary debate, motions and questions and answers; National Energy and Climate Plans, and the Net Zero Industry Act. My work spans from investigations into problematizations (how is BECCS presented as a solution, and to what problem?), to looking into constructed ignorance and residual emissions.
