I study congestion in bus terminals with the help of positioning data.

Presentation

My research is about studying vehicle congestion in bus terminals. I mostly use open data, and in particular, historical positioning data collected from the vehicles in the terminals.

I have employed or will employ a large variety of methodologies in my research project. These methodologies include microsimulation, machine learning, statistics, optimization, and other data processing and analysis tools.

The main project I am working on, Terminal Congestion, is in collaboration with the Swedish road and transport research institute (VTI). The end goal is to develop a framework to study historical congestion in bus terminals using open data, thus obtaining performance metrics and a cost-efficient microsimulation workflow.
