Katarina Åsberg

PhD candidate and lecturer at the Unit of Public Health, with a research interest in prevention and public health, particularly digital support tools for health behavior change. I also work as a public health scientist at Region Östergötland.

Presentation

My research focuses on prevention and public health, empasizing health behavior change through digital interventions. My dissertation investigates behavior change from multiple perspectives including:

  • Exploring students´views on health and behavior change.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of the digital intervention Buddy.
  • Analyzing how students utilized the intervention.
  • Examining their experiences with behavvior change using Buddy.

During my doctoral studies, I also conducted the Focus RCT – a digital intervention aimed at supporting procrastination, and conducted a scoping review on perioperative digital lifestyle interventions.

I teach in the Master´s program in Medical Science and handle public health-related tasks in the Nursing Programme and the Specialist Nursing Programme, Primary Health Care.

Teaching

I teach courses in the Master´s program in Medical Science, and handle public health-related tasks in the Nursing Programme and the Specialist Nursing Programme, Primary Health Care. I am a seminar leader for ‘Kostdebatten’, ‘Hälsoläget, and Strimma supervisor for ethics, human rights, and literature in the Medical program. Additionally, I am a guest lecturer in the Public Health Science program, at Mälardalen university, Västerås.
