My research is rooted in global surgery, with a particular focus on disaster medicine, preparedness, and burn care. I study how healthcare systems can be developed to effectively manage mass casualty incidents, with special emphasis on resource-limited settings. Through national and international collaborations, I analyze both system capacity and surgical competence, and contribute to the development of innovative methods for data collection and preparedness assessment. My overarching goal is to strengthen resilient and equitable healthcare systems capable of responding to both acute disasters and the global burden of surgical conditions.
