My goal in teaching is to introduce students’ to all the fascinating knowledge in survey methodology. Through discussion and exercises, I strive to make every lecture or seminar a learning opportunity with clear examples that students can remember and relate to in their future professional work or research.

My research focuses on how we can increase respondent engagement in surveys to create motivation and commitment, enabling respondents to become co-creators of accurate and reliable research data.
Respondent-Focused Surveys
Conducting a survey requires people to be willing and able to answer the questions. Despite this, many researchers spend very little time adapting surveys to respondents to make answering easier and increase motivation for providing accurate and thoughtful responses. My research addresses all aspects of survey studies, from survey design to testing and validating survey questions. One focus area is open-ended questions, where AI brings new possibilities for categorizing responses.
