Intergenerational Solidarity for a Just Transition?

Nico Mira is a PhD student in Ageing and Social and a researcher at the FuturISE project on the future of intergenerational solidarity.

His research focuses on intergenerational relations in the context of the green transition, with specific interest in the generational contract, identity formation, risk perceptions, and climate justice.

He began his PhD in Ageing and Social Change at Linköping University in the Autumn 2024, and has an MA in Global Studies from Sophia University (Japan) and a BA in Political Science from Uppsala University (Sweden). Beyond his academic expertise, he also has practical working experience of sustainability-related issues in an international environment from both the public and private sectors, such as the Embassy of Sweden in Japan, the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), and as Head of Sustainability & PMO at Volvo Car Japan.

He is also currently serving as co-chair for the Specific Task Team on Innovation and Entrepreneurship at MIRAI, the Swedish-Japanese Strategic University Collaboration, aiming to help foster collaboration between academia, industry, and civil society, towards achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
