My research focuses on how biofabrication and 3D bioprinting can be used to create functional skin for the treatment of severe skin injuries.

Severe skin injuries, such as burns and large wounds, represent a major clinical challenge and can result in extensive complications and long-term suffering for patients. When the skin's protective barrier is damaged, the body's natural healing capacity is impaired, increasing the risk of infection, scarring, and loss of function.

My research focuses on developing new tissue engineering and biofabrication strategies to recreate functional skin. By combining biomaterials, cells, and 3D bioprinting, I investigate how advanced skin substitutes can be fabricated to better mimic the skin’s natural structure and biological function. The aim is to contribute to more effective treatments and improved healing for patients with extensive skin injuries.
