Preschool Children

Health

Childhood obesity remains a significant global health challenge. The preschool age (2-5 years) has been identified as a key period for interventions aimed to prevent obesity and promote healthy food and physical activity habits.

This project is based upon our previous findings from the MINISTOP 1.0 trial. The MINISTOP 2.0 trial aims to assess the effectiveness of the MINISTOP 2.0 app, a parent centered app to support healthy lifestyle behaviors among children, including diet, physical activity, body mass index, sleep and screen time. The MINISTOP smartphone app will be integrated within Child Healthcare as a support for parents to children aged 2.5 years.

As part of the project customizations to other languages (English, Somali and Arabic) will be made. The project will include 300 children and the data collection begun during 2019.
