The festival marked the end of a project where LiU researchers has been engaging with citizens, technical developers and “top down” stakeholders around a smart city test site in Norrköping, to find different needs and visions for the urban space.

A sustainable urban environment depends as much on creating an inclusive space that is safe, accessible and comfortable for a diverse group of citizens as it does on deploying “smart” technologies for energy efficiency or environmental protection.

The closing festival created dialogue between citizens, researchers and other stakeholders through a lively and engaging program of events focused around the themes of citizen science and urban gardening.
