Time-geography is an interdisciplinary research approach which facilitates the understanding of the long term use of limited resources on Earth. It also assists in giving a deeper understanding of how people organize their everyday life activities.

In a collaborative project Chinese and Swedish researchers will use the time-geographic approach to study conditions for urban and regional planning in the two countries. The project also includes PhD student exchange and guest teaching in courses.

There is a need for a comprehensive book on time-geography, its developments and prospects for the future. I am writing such a book based on literature and meetings with researchers who are inspired by the time-geographic approach.

The software is used to visualize everyday activities, geographic mobility and social contexts and for calculating the average time use for activities, visits at various locations, mobility and social togetherness.
