Participation of people in all ages is one of the main goals in Swedish disability policy. This project aims to highlight and problematize ageing and participation among older people with intellectual disabilities living in Group homes.

New products and technical systems are expected to affect older people’s independence and social relations. How do older people view this development, does technology use lead to a sense of security and the possibility of remaining at home?

The research concerns everyday life and opportunities for activity and participation in society for different groups of older people. Issues of ageing, participation, remaining at home and technology use are all essential elements of the research.
