CKS (Centre for Local Government Studies) is a research centre for studies on local politics, organization and development.

CKS focuses on questions and challenges of major importance for local municipalities. The main purpose is to generate knowledge through research, support, evaluation and seminars.

The network Team Nordic Shrinkage was initiated in 2019 by five scholars from Sweden, Norway and Finland. Since then, the network has expanded and is now a point of contact for young and senior scholars.

In the USA, the geographical division is central. Professor Katherine Cramer's research explains, among other things, differences between urban and rural voters. In August, Cramer holds an open lecture about her research at Campus Norrköping.

The game is a research communication project that uses large-scale social simulations, megagames, to help groups explore different interests and ideas about transformations towards sustainable consumption related to food, vacations and furnishings.

In her teens, Josefina Syssner wanted to be a cartoonist. She had no intention of studying at university. A few decades later, she is a professor  with a specific eye on the parts of Sweden that are losing population year after year.

Linköping University is pleased to announce a knowledge retreat for all PhD students who, in one way or another, have municipalities as their research subjects. The retreat will take place at Rimforsa Strand on August 12 - 14, 2024.
