A supercapacitor has been constructed in a plant for the first time. The plant, a rose, can be charged and discharged hundreds of times. This breakthrough is the result of research at the Laboratory of Organic Electronics.

The organic polymer PEDOT is probably one of the world’s most intensely studied materials. Despite this, LiU researchers have now demonstrated that the material functions in a completely different manner than previously believed.

Three departments will each host a doctoral student funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions. The research projects deal with using waste heat to produce electricity, perovskites for photonics, and the rendering of computer-generated images.
