We are now looking for a principal research engineer at the Center for Social and Affective Neuroscience (CSAN) at the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in the exciting intersection between social neuroscience, psychiatry and addiction medicine.
The position
You will work in an international environment and primarily with the following tasks:
- Management of an epidemiological registry-based project investigating long-term medical and social outcomes of Medication-Associated Treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder” with depot injections compared to traditional MAT.
- Using register data in combination with qualitative studies and observational studies to investigate how clinical use of new diagnostic tools and treatment methods affects healthcare and its outcomes for addicted patients
- As a principal research engineer, you will work closely with other lab members and supervise students and research assistants
The person we need
We are looking for you who have a PhD in a relevant field (eg epidemiology, neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, psychiatry) and a publication list that includes epidemiology and empirical data analysis.
This degree must have been awarded at the latest by the point at which LiU makes its decision to employ you.
You have the following experience and knowledge (requirements):
- to work with large register-based data sets
- analysis of epidemiological data using R
- to work in UNIX/LINUX environments, including some system administrator duties
- good knowledge of English, spoken and written
- basic knowledge of Swedish
It is advantageous if you also have:
- previous experience of working with psychiatric research or addiction research
As a person, you take initiative and you have well-developed communication skills. Furthermore, we would like you to be responsible, committed and able to work independently, as well as having good cooperation skills. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability
The workplace
You will work at the Center for Social and Affective Neuroscience (CSAN) together with senior lecturer, docent Andrea Johansson Capusan and with Professor Markus Heilig. CSAN, which belongs to the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences - BKV, offers an international, young research environment with regular seminars and invited guest speakers and a fantastic research infrastructure. In addition to the main project, you will also have opportunities to become familiar with cutting-edge technologies such as TMS and fNIRS and participate in work with clinical trials.
The employment
The employment is a fixed-term employment for one year. The extent is 40%.
Start date according to agreement.
