We are now looking for a research engineer based at the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences. 

The position

In you future role, you will be responsible for the ABIS register (All Children in Southeastern Sweden) and, among other things, help produce data för collaborating research groups. You will also be responsible for biological samples that are sent to various laboratories and work with certain immunological analyses. 

The person we need

We are looking for you who have an academic degree in a field relevant to the position. 

We want you to have:

  • experience in handling biological samples (blood, serum, feces, urine, saliva etc.) 
  • experience with Anova
  • Knowledge of registers at ABIS, as well as other national registers
  • Good computer skills, including knowledge of SPSS and Exel 

Meritorious is if you have:

  • experience with the statistics program R
  • experience with various immunological methods such as flow cytometry and proliferation 
  • previous experience of working in a research group, SSK research linked to ABIS and Typ 1 diabetes

The position requires very good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both spoken and written. 

As person you are flexible and meticulous. You have interest in helping others and are courteous in your treatment. Furthermore, you have good communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work independently. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. 

The workplace

You will work at the Department for Children's and Women's Health (BKH), in Johnny Ludvigsson's research group. The research group works with ABIS, above all when it comes to Type 1 diabetes but also other immunemediated diseases. The group collaborates with other researchers locally, nationally and internationally. 

The Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences, BKV, is one of the university's largest departments with activities primarily within the medical faculty. Our goal is to conduct education and research in medicine and biomedicine, with high international quality. At BKV, you will find leading research with both cutting edge and breadth within a large spectrum of modern biomedicine. 

The employment

This employment is full-time permanent employment. 

Starting by agreement. 

The position includes on-call for freezers connected to the research group.
