Congratulations on having been admitted to the Design Master’s Programme. We are delighted that you will be joining us at Linköping University (LiU)!

If you are following the Visual Media Design track, your home studio will be in Norrköping. During your first year of study however, several parallel courses will be given in Linköping.
If you are following the Sustainable Design or the Service Design track your home studio will be in Linköping.
Please note that there is a free bus service connecting our campuses in Norrköping and Linköping, with a travel time of approximately 40 mins.
Depending on the chosen track, students will be looking for accommodation either in Linköping or Norrköping. Students looking for housing in Norrköping will need a letter of support from the University.
Introduction Days 22-26 August 2022
New master’s students to the Faculty of Science and Engineering will be formally welcomed at Campus Valla in Linköping 22-26 August. You will receive important information regarding your studies and meet your Master's Programme Contact Person. You will also meet senior students who will be your mentors during the start of the semester. They will assist you with practical issues and guide you through the various academic administration systems you need to be familiar with.
Monday 22 August
- 9-17:00 Introduction to the programme (Linköping).
Meet up at Meeting point X, B-building, entrance 27, ground floor.
In the morning: lecture room KY33 in the Key-building, at Campus Valla, view map.
In the afternoon: lecture room P26 in the C-building at Campus Valla, view map.
Tuesday 23 August
- 9-17:00 Presentation of the Sustainable Futures track (Linköping).
Location: In the A-building at Campus Valla.
Wednesday 24 August – Mandatory roll call
- 9-12:00 Presentation of the Transformative Service track (Linköping).
Location: In the B-building, third floor at Campus Valla. - 12:15 - 14:30 Mandatory roll call, mentor meet up and introduction activities.
You must attend in person – on campus – to confirm your place on the programme. If failing to attend, you will lose your place.

Thursday 25 August
- 9:00 - 12:00 Welcome to LiU: on-site introduction event with speeches and a following welcome fair.
Location: Kårhuset Kollektivet at Ågatan 55 in the center of Linköping, view map. - 13:15-15:30 Faculty information, on-site at Campus Valla.
Location: Lecture room C1 in the C-building, entrance 20 at Campus Valla, view map.
Friday 26 August
- 9-17:00 Presentation of the Visual Media track (Norrköping).
Location: In the Visual Media Studio, Kopparhammaren 2, third floor at Campus Norrköping.
Conditionally admitted students
If you are conditionally admitted you must upload your degree certificate and transcript of your last semester(s) both in original language and with an English translation to your Universityadmissions.se account by 1 November 2022.
Residing in Sweden
As soon as you have been accepted to commence studies at LiU, we recommend applicants who are citizens of non-EU/EEA countries to do the following:
1) Pay your tuition fee.
2) Apply for a resident permit from the Swedish Migration Agency.
We advise you not to book any non-refundable travel until you are sure you can reside and study in Sweden. You can find further information here.
