Environmental monitoring is a key component of contemporary environmental work and forms the basis for follow-up, risk assessment and environmental action. Without good monitoring, we have no way of knowing whether environmental laws and targets work in practice.
During the course, you will work with how environmental monitoring programmes are designed and implemented to produce relevant and reliable data.
Practical methods for environmental management
In the course, you will practice developing environmental monitoring programs, carrying out analyses of environmental data, and using mathematical modelling and statistical methods to support analysis and interpretation. You will also work with assessing the strengths and limitations of different analyticas methods, which is essential for environmental assessment and reporting.
The course focuses on realistic case studies and on learning methods commonly used in applied environmental work within e.g. public authorities, consultancy firms and research.
For those interested in environmental analysis
This course is aimed at students and professionals in environmental science, environmental engineering, natural resource management or related fields who wish to strengthen their skills in environmental monitoring, data analysis and environmental modelling. The course builds on prior studies in environmental science and environmental analysis.
