Cecilia Fredlund wrote her dissertation in 2019 on the subject of Young people who sell sex and sex as self-injurious behaviour. She is currently an affiliated researcher at Linköping University and affiliated with the national center for knowledge concerning violence against children - Barnafrid. Her research today focuses on sexual violence, which concerns both long-term effects such as complex traumatization and sexual vulnerability. She currently has several collaborative projects, including Jönköping and Gothenburg University, which are about developing care and treatment after sexual abuse and sexual exposure. Clinically, she works as a specialist doctor at the Psychiatric Clinic in Linköping and also has teaching and educational assignments within Linköping University.
