In my ongoing research, I focus on the governance of urban design by studying how the government's bill "Policy for a Designed Living Environment" (prop. 2017/18:110) is implemented and translated into municipal physical planning through local architectural strategies. It revolves about examining the intersection between architecture, urban design, and land-use planning, especially focusing on issues related to the relationship between form and content.
I am also participating in a research project that examines the effects of the rescaling that public transport has undergone since 2012. Planning responsibility for public transport (PT) was transferred from municipalities to regional public transport authorities. My part in the project is about examining how larger municipalities still work with public transport at a strategic and tactical level as a means to achieve more sustainable cities and sustainable mobility, even though they no longer have authority over PT.
I sometimes teach courses that deal with urban development, urban planning and urban design ideals in the urban and regional planning program.
