My Research

In my doctoral studies, I specialise in thermo-mechanical fatigue (TMF) and microstructural characterisation of cast iron intended for truck engines.

My research combines mechanical testing and metallography to better understand the relationship between fatigue performance, microstructural properties and process parameters, contributing to more reliable material assessment in high-temperature applications.

My work aims to correlate TMF properties with microstructure and process parameters to support the development of engine components, particularly cylinder heads. Improved TMF properties and fatigue life of engine components can increase engine efficiency, which ultimately contributes to reduced fossil fuel emissions.
