With motivation and knowledge, I wish to achieve good results in education and health care.

Communication and education in health care

As a professor in nursing at Linköping University I work with questions related to communication and education in healthcare.

I defended my PhD thesis "Antihypertensive medication in clinical practice: Aspects of patient adherence to treatment in Clinical Pharmacology" at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences 1998.

My research includes adherence to treatment, communication and education in nursing and health care sciences.  Drawing on research in various research areas I have developed educational materials for patients and health care providers. I have written popular science books to patients about diet, exercise, stress, treatment of high blood pressure and skin problems.

1986-2000 I was Educational Consultant at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and involved in the development of problem-based learning. 2002-2008 I was Vice Dean for education at the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg.

As the Pro Dean for education at the undergraduate and advanced level, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Linköping University I have worked with curriculum development, interprofessional education and quality assurance of the educational programs at the faculty.

I have been a member in a working group at the Association of Swedish Higher Education (SUHF) with the task to analyse the grading system in higher education in light of internationalisation 2014-2015.
