Internet use and digital participation in everyday life activities and society are becoming increasingly important to participate in our contemporary society. How does this work for young adults with intellectual disabilities? My research concerns digital participation and eHealth for this target group, healthy habits, wellbeing, and digital support for young adults with intellectual disabilities. Further my research includess the effects of COVID-19 for people receiving LSS services.
To explore this, we use various scientific methods, such as co-design and inclusive research with adapted data collection methods, such as observation, interviews supported by alternative communication, and cognitive adaptation of surveys. The research is based on the individual's own experience, but also from the perspective of relatives and professionals.
Collaboration with the surrounding society and dissemination of research is important to me, and I am the project leader for a collaborative effort to utilize research concerning participation and involvement of people with intellectual disabilities before and during times of crises.
