Study of childbirth that may take its time

Are more children born than necessary with the help of a pain-stimulation medication or a caesarean section? LiU professor Marie Blomberg designs a study of new ways of working, where each woman is assessed more individually.

It should not matter where in the country a woman gives birth. Nor should her background. A new research centre is therefore being set up, to make the entire care chain for expectant and new mothers more equal and based on their individual needs.

App helps pregnant women to a healthy lifestyle

Researchers have developed and evaluated an app that helps women achieve a healthy weight gain during a pregnancy. Using the app contributed to a better diet. Pregnant women with overweight or obesity who received the app also gained less weight.
