Maria Spets

Lecturer

My focus in teaching within the midwifery program and in my doctoral studies is pedagogy and childbirth.

My doctoral studies focus on supervision models in the birthing unit

In both my role as a lecturer and a doctoral student, my focus is on pedagogy and childbirth. My ambition is to contribute to student-centered learning where students are encouraged to learn together, both in theoretical and practical teaching. In collaboration with colleagues both within the university and the clinic, I work on implementing peer learning in the birthing units within Region Östergötland and Region Jönköpings län. This task aligns well with my doctoral project, which is about supervision models in the birthing unit. In my role as a lecturer, I am responsible for courses in the first and second semesters of the midwifery program.
