My field of research is modern history, viewed from Nordic and global perspectives. I make studies of civil society, international and humanitarian organizations, as well as comparative conceptual-historical and moral-economic issues.

The Faces of Civil Society: Swedish, Nordic, Global
A beloved child has many names. Popular movements, associations, and civil society are some of the terms used to describe the self-organized sphere that has emerged between the individual, the family, the market, and the state. The lecture outlines the key stages of this development, from its breakthrough in the 19th century to the present day. The perspective is Swedish, Nordic, and global, with a particular emphasis on the cross-border, value-driven engagement of civil society.
