Global Fluid Power Society (GFPS 2024) June 17-20 in Hudiksvall

The Global Fluid Power Society (GFPS) is excited to announce the call for papers for the upcoming GFPS PhD Symposium 2024, scheduled from June 17 to June 20, 2024, in Hudiksvall, Sweden.

Hudiksvall is a center for Fluid Power industry in northern Sweden and the conference is organized jointly between Linköping University and the Hudiksvall Hydraulics Cluster, HHK.

The conference will be embedded in the industrial landscape and there will be plenty of opportunities for industrial visits as well as an exhibition at the conference site. This symposium offers a unique platform for PhD students worldwide to present their research in fluid power technology, and receive invaluable feedback from esteemed academics, industry professionals, and fellow researchers.

A notable highlight of this year's symposium is that accepted papers will be published in a dedicated book by Springer Nature, a premier global publisher of scientific content. This publication provides a great opportunity to increase the visibility and impact of your research. The book will be open access.

  • Deadline full paper for review: February 18, 2024
  • Review back to authors estimated: April 2, 2024.
  • Submission of final paper: May 1, 2024
  • Final Paper Acceptance Notification: May 6, 2024
  • Conference Dates: June 17 - 20, 2024

The time slot for each presenter in the sections is 15 minutes for the presentation plus 5 minutes for questions.

There is no specific template for the presentations.

Please adhere to your allotted time to respect all other presenters in the session.

Travel and venue

Venue: The conference is held at Aktivitetsfabriken, Köpmanbergsvägen 1, 824 50 Hudiksvall MAP

Aktivitetsfabriken is about 1.5 kilometers from the train station, which is approximately a 15-20 minute walk.

Airplane: Fly to Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN), which is Sweden's largest international airport with many connections from around the world.

Train: The railway station is located in the middle of Hudiksvall city center. The train company SJ runs most of the railway lines in Sweden. For information about tickets or national arrivals and departures, please visit or phone: +46 (0)771-75 75 75.

Bus: There are a number of coach companies which connect most parts of Sweden for instance Bus4You and Flixbus.


Highlights and programme


Discover and experience a true example of sustainable innovation on this excursion with the forest company Holmen. We will showcase historical forestry and modern hydraulic equipment, and you will learn about sustainability and biodiversity. All framed by the Hälsingland forests, local food specialties, and the magic Swedish midsummer tradition.
