LiU Composite Laboratory (LCL) is a laboratory at Linköping University, dedicated to research on polymer composite materials. This research will be conducted in collaboration with companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), research institutes, other universities, and students. LCL will support a wide range of activities, including research and teaching.

The laboratory is establishing spring 2025. It is designed to meet the specific requirements and needs of its collaborating partners.

At LCL, various manufacturing methods can be performed, such as prepreg hand layup, vacuum infusion, and wet layup. Additionally, an area will be dedicated to composite painting. For curing processes, LCL will be equipped with an oven and an autoclave.

A composite is a material composed of at least two distinct phases or constituents. Polymer composite materials are widely used in various industries, including aerospace, space, automotive, and sports. Their use is justified by their excellent specific modulus and strength (properties normalized by density).
