Our research on wireless sensor networks and Internet of Things have resulted in several applications including remote monitoring and control in cultural and historical buildings, e.g., Linköping Cathedral and other places like in Kolmården zoo park.

Our research results have been utilized not only in Sweden but also in Germany and Austria, etc.

In Sweden, there are about 3500 churches, and much more other types of cultural and historical buildings. Our generation has the duty to protect these valuable heritage assets to the next generation. For this purpose, our developed Minerva system has been installed in many places with multiple sensors for remote monitoring and control. Moreover, energy consumption is reduced considerably (up to 50%) with scheduling and control of indoor temperature.
