Anders Ynnerman has decided to reverse the trend of young people’s declining interest in technology. Preserving this interest is crucial for sustainable social development. Visual science communication offers a solution.

To show what actually cannot be seen, and to make complex information comprehensible by way of images. This is what visualisation is about, and this is the objective of the Visualization Center C in Norrköping.

Everything you do generates data that can be visualized in a simple and fun way. This is what a new exhibition at Visualization Center C aims to convey.

In a packed auditorium in the Dome Theatre of the Visualisation Centre we witnessed the historic moment when the New Horizons space probe passed Pluto, thanks to OpenSpace, a software system developed at LiU.

Better images for visitors and sharper tools for researchers. The dome at Visualization Center C has been upgraded with laser projectors as part of a Swedish initiative in which Linköping University and Norrköping municipality are central.

Thirty-two people from all over the world have been selected to become members of the newly formed IEEE Visualization Academy. One of them is professor Anders Ynnerman. “It’s extremely gratifying to be recognised as one of the pioneers”, he says.

Visualisation Center C at Campus Norrköping won the prize for best 3D film at the international film festival Fulldome Festival in Brno, Czech Republic, on July 30, 2021.

“Donations such as this one from the Stig Wadström Foundation make an impact on a university. It will give us room for manoeuvre and open new opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration”, says Vice-Chancellor Jan-Ingvar Jönsson.

A unique laboratory is opening for curious, knowledge-hungry young people who want straight facts, far from all the sensationalism and the noisy, opinionated comment fields in social media. On 9 April 2022 the Laboratory will open to the public.

At Visualization Center C, Campus Norrköping, you can take a trip far out into the universe or deep down into the smallest constituents of matter. The first part of WISDOME, the Wallenberg Immersive Science Communication Dome, is now up and running.
