The Kalas event is the peak finale of all the welcome activities LiU offers new students. Experience the event, meet new friends, and visit many exciting companies and student clubs and societies!

After two years in which the pandemic forced the Kalas to be held remotely, it is at last time for a proper Kalas, on campus. The balloon will go up on 7 September.

Linköping University will celebrate the opening of Studenthuset with a full festival week, starting with an opening ceremony on 30 August and ending with the Kalas event to welcome new students at Campus Valla on 5 September.

The Kalas event is Sweden’s largest welcoming party for new students. Today it's an important LiU tradition, but how did it start?
