Maths Coach Online is a chat service offering pupils in primary and secondary school free online mathematics help from university students. Maths Coach Online also provides a basis for research on how to deliver online-based education.

“Mattecoach på nätet”, the online maths coach, has helped close to 70,000 students with maths. This collaboration between KTH, Linköping University and Chalmers has now spread internationally.

“Thanks. Now at last I understand.” and “Thanks. You explain things really clearly” are two of the happy replies that turn up in the chat function of the maths coaches. Until now nearly 51,000 pupils have been helped with their maths homework.

The first to receive the Ingemar Teaching Prize is assistant lecturer and maths teacher Daniel Carlsson in the Department of Mathematics. Daniel has a passion for teaching, and providing students with the tools and abilities to prepare them for life.
