Postdoc in cybersecurity didactics
Back to available jobsWe are seeking a postdoctoral fellow in the field of cybersecurity didactics with placement at the Department of Computer and Information Science.
Work assignments
Your task as a postdoctoral fellow will be to conduct research on didactics for cybersecurity. There is a great need for education and training in cybersecurity which have led to the creation of many new courses and training forms that are not always based on evidence and didactic principles. Therefore, we need now new knowledge about how we best conduct education in cybersecurity. Different stakeholders have different needs depending on their background and experience and we need to increase knowledge about which methods work best for these different groups. Furthermore, there are great opportunities to arouse interest and engagement through, for example, game-based teaching methods (e.g. CTFs).
Your tasks will be to develop new material and develop existing courses and training courses in cybersecurity through practical and applied research and to empirically investigate how well different methods and approaches work. The research will be published in high-quality scientific conferences and journals. You will participate in projects funded by the EU and contribute to these by participating in discussions and meetings. As postdoc, you will principally carry out research. A certain amount of teaching may be part of your duties, up to a maximum of 20% of working hours.
Qualifications
To be qualified to take employment as postdoc, you must have been awarded a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree. This degree must have been awarded at the latest by the time point at which LiU makes its decision to employ you.
The PhD degree should have been awarded maximum three years before the date of application, with reservation for statutory absence like parental leave.
We are looking for someone who has a PhD in computer science or equivalent and an interest and experience in teaching cybersecurity, or you have a PhD in pedagogy/didactics or similar and documented knowledge in cybersecurity.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and written, is an absolute necessity. Good inter-personal skills and ability to work in teams but also independently is highly valued.
The workplace
The Department of Computer and Information Science was founded in 1983 but its roots go back to the early 1970s. It is one of the largest computer science departments in northern Europe.
