Your work tasks will involve participating in the research programs within the projects 'Seeing, Knowing and Acting in the Climate-Biodiversity Nexus: Exploring Digital Technologies for Transformative Change' and 'Exploring the Transformative Power of Digital Governance in Global Governance'. You are expected to contribute to the entire program, but will primarily work within the work package "Governing Climate Change and Biodiversity Through Digital Tools". This will require support for research work at negotiations (COP meetings and intersessionals) within the UN Framework Conventions on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Biodiversity (CBD). You also need to be available to attend these meetings as needed.
As postdoc, you will principally carry out research. A certain amount of teaching may be part of your duties, up to a maximum of 20% of working hours.
Qualifications
To be qualified to take employment as postdoc, you must have been awarded a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree. This degree must have been awarded at the latest by the point at which LiU makes its decision to employ you.
It is considered advantageous if your doctoral degree is no older than three years at application deadline for this job. If there are special reasons for having an older doctoral degree – such as taking statutory leave – then these may be taken into consideration.
We are looking for someone with a background in environmental governance or a related field, and documented scientific skills in:
- coding of policies and instruments.
- survey methodology within global/international environmental studies.
It is a merit if you even have documented scientific skills in:
- document analysis related to the use of digital tools in environmental governance.
- comparative studies on the use of digital technology in sustainability governance.
- participation in UNFCCC or CBD meetings.
Good knowledge in both Swedish and English is required for the position.

The workplace
You will work at the Department of Thematic Studies – Environmental Change and will be affiliated with the Center for Climate Science and Policy Research at Linköping University.
The employment
The employment is a temporary position for two years with the possibility of extension to a total employment period of no more than three years. The postdoctoral position is full-time.
