The position

Linköping University has a new cybersecurity lab that includes both a computer room for students and a server environment that can be used to simulate different scenarios related to cybersecurity. We are looking for several people with an interest in cybersecurity for temporary assignments starting in the spring semester 2026. The tasks will vary depending on skills and interests and include software development for use in teaching and research in cybersecurity, laboratory teaching in the course Ethical Hacking (TDDE61), and participating in research projects in cybersecurity.

The person we need

We are looking for someone with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent qualifications: 30hp in computer science courses and 15hp in cybersecurity/information security courses.

To be eligible for employment as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to undergraduate or graduate-level university studies.

It is an advantage to have deeper knowledge in cybersecurity, especially ethical hacking. It is an advantage if you are studying at Linköping University

The workplace

The Department of Computer and Information Science was founded in 1983 but its roots go back to the early 1970s. It is one of the largest computer science departments in northern Europe. Our research covers a broad spectrum of fields, from core to applied computer sciences. Its vast scope also benefits our undergraduate and graduate programmes, and we now teach courses in several engineering programmes at bachelor’s and master’s levels, as well as the programmes in statistics, cognitive science and innovative programming. You will work in the new division of Cybersecurity, which will be established in January 2026.

The employment

The employment is 20-50 percent of a full-time position, by agreement.

The work will be carried out during 2026, and the starting date will be determined by agreement.

Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
