NAISS, the National Academic Infrastructure for Supercomputing in Sweden, provides academic users with high-performance computing resources, storage capacity, and data services. NAISS is hosted by Linköping University and has 12 partner universities across Sweden.

We are now looking for a Science writer for NAISS and the Swedish AI factory Mimer

This recruitment is part of the National Academic Infrastructure of Supercomputing in Sweden, NAISS, which includes the Swedish node of the EuroHPC-funded network of European AI Factories in collaboration with RISE The research institute of Sweden. The AI Factory Service Hub is operated as a project under the Horizon Europe framework programme and will include up to 50 AI experts and other staff working close to academic and industrial users across EuroHPC member states to advance AI innovation, training, business and workforce development.

The position

As science writer, your responsibility will be to produce texts and other communication materials such as articles, reports, newsletters, presentations — for web, social media, print, and beyond, that describe how the infrastructure is used. You will work closely with both users and management to create user stories and highlight the benefits of the AI Factory and its investments in skills and supercomputers. Together with other communications officers, you will contribute to communication strategies and material for example for training purposes. You will frequently collaborate with colleagues in other countries to present the AI factories international programme. The position includes travel to other EuroHPC member states and the EU.

The person we need 

The person we need is skilled in translating scientific publications and technical descriptions into accessible popular science content.

The following education, experience and expertise are required:

  • Completed academic education at the Master’s degree in the relevant research area.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Research and/or practical work experience from high-performance computing and artificial intelligence.
  • Proven ability to independently write and produce written materials.
  • Ability to convincingly convey the importance and impact of a complex scientific project to a broad range of stakeholders.

In addition, the following education, experience and expertise will strengthen an application:

  • A doctoral degree in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience communications experience.
  • Experience from working in multinational contexts and with international organisations and funding bodies.
  • Experience from EuroHPC or other EU projects.
  • Familiarity with data and AI challenges, particularly in life sciences, materials science, autonomous systems, climate research, or large-scale language models (LLM).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Swedish.

The employment

Permanent position, full-time, 100%. Start date: as soon as possible or by mutual agreement.

The position involves a role as Coordinator.
