LiU SAI - Scene for AI

LiU SAI – Scene for AI – is an arena in which we arrange lectures and events with a focus on AI, in the partnership with AI Sweden.

The aim is to promote the AI-related work being done both at Linköping University and in regional industry. The idea with Scene for AI is to generate interest and be a natural gathering place for everybody who is interested in AI, thereby stimulating collaborations both within the university, local businesses and with other regional national and international actors interested in AI.

This page will be updated continually with new events. Be sure to come back here regularly. All events will be open for academia, industry and the general public. However, the specific target groups, technical depth and language will vary from event to event.

All the events will be recorded and available to watch here afterwards.

Are you interested in participating, or curious about a subject that we haven't touched upon yet? Feel free to get in touch!

Artificial intelligence in medicine – Clinical implementation

Currently (fall 2022), there are over a hundred CE-marked AI-based medical technology products in radiology. However, clinical implementation of AI is not trivial and requires several competences and local validation. Listen to Håkan Gustafsson, Deputy director at the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV)

From LiU SAI #9 at Wrannesalen, CMIV, Campus US, Linköping University, Linköping, 8/12 2022.

M4-health and digital twins: a foundation for general AI in healthcare

For the last 20 years, Cedersund has developed mechanistic mathematical models for all of the main organs in the human body: heart, liver, fat, brain, etc. Lately, these models have combined into an interconnected model for the model as a whole. This interconnected model can be made specifically for each individual, and is then called a digital twin. Listen to Gunnar Cedersund, Associate Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering (IMT).

From LiU SAI #9 at Wrannesalen, CMIV, Campus US, Linköping University, Linköping, 8/12 2022.

Digital transformation - with

Thomas Nordenskjöld and Niklas Samuelsson present and discuss how Volvo Group uses AI technology/analytics to, for example, optimize the company's logistics flows. An overall presentation about Volvo Group's work with AI as decision support.

From LiU SAI #8 at Zenit, Campus Valla, Linköping University, 3 October 2022.

(In Swedish) Accelerera utvecklingen inom AI-området vid Linköpings universitet

Listen to Fredrik Heintz, Professor at the Department of Computer and Information Science at Linköping University and Per-Olof Brehmer, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Linköping University.

From LiU SAI #5: Artificial intelligence - trends, challenges and opportunities. A half day at Visualiseringscenter C in Norrköping 23 May 2022.

AIDA – Analytic imaging diagnostic arena

AIDA is a Swedish arena for research and innovation on artificial intelligence, AI, for medical image analysis. Here, academia, healthcare and industry meet to translate technical advances in AI technology into patient benefit in the form of clinically useful tools. Listen to Caroline Bivik Stadler, Principal Research Engineer at the Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences (HMV).

Deep learning for functional analysis of diseases

Within molecular biology, analyzing different omics as the size of available public data sets has increased orders of magnitudes, but a fundamental key aspect is then to identify a biologically motivated embedding. For this purpose, functional data using protein networks is a suitable candidate. Listen to Mika Gustafsson, Professor at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (IFM).

From LiU SAI #9 at Wrannesalen, CMIV, Campus US, Linköping University, Linköping, 8/12 2022.
