Experience a magical evening where a symphony orchestra, 140 choir singers and a brilliant opera star kick off the Academic Ceremony at Linköping University. A university turning 50 this year. The Academic Gala Concert is open to anyone wishing to join in the celebration.
In the seven musical pieces presented, we can sense the university’s desire for discovery, belief in the future and courage. The first piece, written by Johannes Brahms when he was appointed honorary doctor at the University of Breslau, is inspired by several student songs woven into the music. The evening continues with an exclusive and specially composed piece by Mikael Fall, written in honour of Linköping University. Here the audience will enjoy a unique first public performance.
Each piece of music offers joy, belief in the future and musical brilliance, and has been carefully selected to reflect academia and Linköping University’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Don’t miss the chance to be a part of this amazing experience – an evening that will inspire and move you!
