Modern visualization and media technology encompasses a large number of areas with a strong emphasis on information and computer technology. The subject covers the entire chain from data collection, processing, synthesis and communication using image, sound and other senses as well as methods and tools for such operations.

The program aims to provide the doctoral students with in-depth knowledge of the theoretical issues that underlie research in the field. Furthermore, the doctoral training takes place in interaction between basic research and application and is conducted in a multidisciplinary environment in close collaboration with other academic groups and companies.
