The study is broken down into the following parts:
- Conduct a literature review of international research and national studies and standards of the subjects benchmarking, categorization, and key performance indicators linked to industrial energy use
- Categorize Swedish industrial SMEs final energy end-using processes and create Conservation Supply Curves of proposed and implemented measures, based on data from the approximately 800 energy audits from the national energy audit program
- Develop a new general theoretical model for the categorization of data for industrial SMEs, both for energy end-use, and energy efficiency measures
- Conduct a number of case studies among industrial SMEs using the developed model
