Security Link is a platform for strategic interdisciplinary research, and it is our vision that it shall become a world-leading centre of excellence, unrivalled in Sweden, within crisis management, security and infrastructure protection. The proposed research focuses on prioritised social functions, which include support for decision-making within risk and threat areas, infrastructure protection (airports, ports, transport systems, nuclear plants, large public events, etc.) and disaster management.
Work will be carried out in the following areas:
- secure wireless communications,
- advanced sensors and detectors,
- sensor & information fusion,
- decision support and the coordination of crisis management, and related ethical issues.
Security Link - research, education, innovation
Security Link consists of a consortium from Linköping University and the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI), together with complementary expertise from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Security Link aims to cover all areas listed in the invitation to submit a proposal and the Vinnova report ”NRA Security”.
The magnitude of the application is SEK 20 million per year, following an initial start-up phase. The greater part of the funds will be used to recruit new personnel at all levels, with a priority given to shared services and multidisciplinary projects.
