Elin Carlsson Malm

Lecturer

I am a specialist nurse with focus on ambulance care. I work clinically with ambulance care in the county of Östergötland. I have worked with different forms of training and skills development for ambulance personnel for more than ten years.

Ambulance care and teaching

I teach the Nursing programme in Norrköping and Linköping.

My responsibilities include being base group supervisor and contact teacher for students on placements (VFU). I also teach most of the practical proficiency course modules, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and peripheral venous catheter (PVC).

My teaching duties also include giving lectures, instructing simulation exercises, assessing seminars, conducting study assignments and different types of examinations; for example, end-of-term examinations.

About me

Clinicum simulation group

I am part of a simulation group at the request of Clinicum at the Faculty of Medicine.

I am the operator and instructor for various simulation exercises at Clinicum in Norrköping and Linköping. Students from different programmes at the Faculty of Medicine participate in the simulation exercises.

Interaction with the rest of society

Because I do clinical work in ambulance care alongside my teaching duties and I teach at the Emergency Medical Centre – KMC (Region Östergötland), there is natural interaction between my clinical work and teaching.

My education

  • Registered nurse 2002
  • Registered specialist nurse, specialising in ambulance care 2011
  • Master of Science in Nursing 2011
