Presentation

I am employed and work during my PhD period 20% as a development manager for human rights issues on the elderly and the health and social care administration in the City of Gothenburg. My work is about equality issues from a broad perspective, such as accessibility, inclusion and non-discrimination based on gender, gender identity and sexual orientation, ethnicity, function, age and more. The intersectional perspective, how societal structures create different conditions for different groups of people, is something I am interested in and that I bring with me into my research. In my work with the elderly and the care and care administration, I also coordinate the administration's work to manage, act and prevent violence in close relationships with the goal that everyone should be able to live a life free from violence.

My research is about the staff's experiences of violence and abuse against older people living in nursing homes. It can be older adults who are exposed to various forms of violence from relatives, other tenants or staff. Violence can be psychological, physical, economic or material, sexual or in the form of intentional or unintentional neglect. I will also investigate factors that can be associated with exercising violence and abuse against older people as staff.
